Positive Stress
In the whirlwind of modern life, the amount of stress is increasing more and more. We all are rushing somewhere and running, unable to accomplish everything we intended, worrying about
uncertainty – all these factors can disrupt even the most balanced individuals. How can we cope with such a heavy load? Modern psychologists have found a way out of the situation – stress can be turned into a positive experience.
Stress is a natural reaction of the body caused by any extreme situation. No matter how hard we try to shield ourselves from stressful situations, it’s impossible to avoid them altogether. The key is not to drive ourselves into a state of chronic anxiety, because then the problem can shift from the realm of psychology to a physical level. When we are in a state of constant stress, various diseases can develop – migraines, cardiovascular system failures, oncology, and many others. Almost half of the world’s population suffers from sleep disorders due to stress, and many also report an increase in conflicts that disrupt personal and family relationships.
In recent years, psychologists, in connection with the increase in the number of stress-dependent individuals, have started to actively develop a new direction called positive psychology. Psychologists believe that it is not the negative consequences of stress that affect health, but how we respond to the surrounding circumstances. The matter is that how a person relates to a particular event is determined not only by their actions but also by the physical reaction of the body. Researchers have conducted a study showing that people experiencing stress, regardless of its severity, should perceive it not as a tragedy but as an opportunity for personal growth and development. With this attitude towards stress, you will suffer less from migraines, back pain, joint pain, and other physical manifestations of stress. And one more positive point: a person can teach their brain to respond positively to any stress.
We will discuss the rules of positive stress and what is necessary to achieve this next time.
