To determine if your weight is within the normal range, doctors recommend calculating your body mass index.

But often a situation arises where people with a large amount of muscle mass discover they are overweight. Although it might seem their body is in perfect shape by all standards.

For such situations, there is another method – measuring the waist. In fact, it’s quite simple!

Take a measuring tape and wrap it around the narrowest part of your waist. The tape should not dig into the skin, but simply fit snugly against the body. Look and remember the number.

Now divide your height in centimeters by two. If your waist circumference is less than half your height, there’s no reason for concern. Diseases associated with excess weight are not a threat to you.

However, if your waist circumference is greater, it’s time to sound the alarm! You are in the risk group for diseases related to excess weight! You need to urgently revise your diet and make changes to it, as well as increase your physical activity.
