What is ‘Proper Nutrition’?

According to the World Health Organization, the number of people suffering from excess weight is increasing every year at an alarming rate.

Everyone is talking about the need to eat properly, not to overeat fatty and sweet foods, to reduce the amount of fried food, not to eat at night… But not everyone knows and understands what “proper nutrition” really means.

Proper (healthy) nutrition is a diet that ensures growth, normal development, and vital activity of a person, as well as contributes to strengthening health and preventing various diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, and cancer.

In recent years, scientists have been conducting numerous studies to optimize dietary habits in the modern world. However, the thing is that when a person decides to eat properly, they need information about what exactly “eating properly” means, how to do it, and how it will all affect their body.

Human bodies are different, and it’s hard to find two that are completely identical. Therefore, what is good for one person may be bad for another, very harmful for a third, and completely irrelevant for a fourth. The basic principles of proper nutrition are the same for everyone, but it always comes down to specifics. People who decide to improve their health and appearance through proper and healthy nutrition need to know these basic principles to build their personal diet based on the peculiarities of their own body and health.

Despite the dry, short definition of what “proper nutrition” is, it consists of many components. This includes necessary knowledge about proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals, the proper ratio of these essential components for our body, and the amount of water needed for normal body functioning. It is also important to know how nutrition affects immunity, cholesterol levels in the blood, how to eat properly during stress or depression, and how some foods interact with medications.

And as for how improper and irrational nutrition affects appearance, especially for women, it probably doesn’t need much discussion. As one ages, losing excess weight becomes increasingly difficult, and many simply give up on themselves, which means on their health as well.

We will strive to publish the most useful materials on this topic and will try to explain proper and healthy nutrition simply and accessibly.

We invite you on a journey to a Slim Life!
