Diet for Youth
Spring has arrived… And if we think about the balance of our diet now, we can slow down the passage of time and by the beginning of the summer season get rid of a few
extra pounds.
Each of us has had the desire to go on a strict diet and lose a few pounds in a short time in order to fit into our favorite summer dress that has become a bit tight during the long winter. Most likely, many even resorted to some strict diets, starving themselves, but after the diet ended, they relapsed and the lost weight returned with a vengeance… If we approach the composition of our menu wisely and create a proper rational eating plan, we can enjoy tasty and healthy food, shed a few extra pounds, feel younger, and also look youthful, healthy, and full of energy! With a properly designed menu, metabolism is activated and starts burning more calories while providing plenty of energy. With the right nutrition program, the waist will noticeably shrink, the skin will become more elastic, the bones stronger, and the heart more resilient.
The principle of such nutrition lies in simplicity. In most cases, the food we eat contains a large amount of empty calories. Harmful fats and additives that make up our diet lead to premature aging and accelerated inflammatory processes. They need to be completely eliminated. Healthy natural products should replace harmful foods. If we stick to a proper healthy diet and add short daily workouts, we can get into great shape by summer!
6 elements for health and youth:
Vegetables and fruits.
For those who want to shed extra pounds, the smartest step is to base their diet on fresh vegetables and fruits. They are beneficial because they contain practically no calories (but! let’s not forget that there are always exceptions!), they contain almost no cholesterol, and they are rich in fiber. Vegetables and fruits are abundant in beneficial substances, vitamins, and minerals, and some have rejuvenating properties. Almost all berries are rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants are substances that neutralize free radicals that are formed in the body under the influence of an unfavorable environment and aging. Free radicals trigger inflammatory processes in the body and damage cells, causing the body to age. By incorporating fresh or frozen berries into your diet, you can slow down the aging process. And vitamin C, which is found in large quantities in berries, will make your skin radiant and smooth.
Protein.
After 40, muscle mass in women begins to shrink, so the amount of protein consumed should increase. This is important also because metabolism starts to slow down, which means that pounds will be deposited faster. This can pose a threat to health, and decreasing muscle mass will weaken physical strength and worsen coordination. Tips from nutritionists can help maintain muscle mass at the proper level and support metabolism – women over 40 need to consume at least 300 g. of protein each day. It is found in chicken and turkey, beef and lean pork, eggs, fish, legumes, and dairy products.
Whole grains.
One of the top places on the list of healthy products is occupied by beneficial grains. Their consumption helps control weight and provides a feeling of fullness. Whole grains are complex carbohydrates that maintain an optimal level of glucose in the blood, which serves as a preventive measure against diabetes. Grains help combat cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and colon cancer.
Fatty fish.
The fatty polyunsaturated acids found in seafood can reduce chronic inflammatory processes. Scientists believe that omega-3 has a significant impact on the areas of the brain responsible for feelings of happiness and energy. So, eat fatty fish as often as possible, and good mood, along with health, is guaranteed. In addition to seafood, moderate consumption of plant fats – such as vegetable oil, nuts, and seeds – is also recommended.
Water and other beverages.
Doctors recommend drinking as much clean water as possible. There are even special formulas for calculating the necessary amount of water based on body weight (which we’ll talk about next time). Water helps flush toxins from the body, hydrates cells, and helps to avoid dehydration issues. In addition to clean water, one can moderately consume tea and coffee. Scientists have found that coffee strengthens blood vessel walls and reduces the risk of developing type II diabetes. Natural tea contains a large amount of active antioxidants that positively influence skin beauty. Moreover, tea activates the immune system, reduces the risk of age-related memory problems and heart attacks. When consuming coffee and tea, it’s essential to regulate the amount of sugar; otherwise, all efforts to lose weight will be in vain.
Sport.
As funny as it sounds, you can run away from aging. Even a small amount of daily physical activity will keep your muscles toned, ensure normal functioning of the heart and lungs, and kickstart metabolism. If you dedicate 30 minutes a day to physical activity, issues with memory, physical ailments, and sleep disturbances will diminish, regardless of age.
To greet summer (and age) fully prepared – efforts are required. But they will pay off in health, beauty, and a wonderful figure, regardless of age!
